What is Badii?
For those that need a (re)introduction...
We’re reimagining Swiss thermal bathing culture for America.
In Swiss-German, “badi” refer to inclusive, often nature-focused public pools and beaches which can be accompanied by access to clean natural water, mineral springs, and saunas. From “badi” came “Badii,” as an homage to the culture I witnessed in these public bathing spaces.
To us, Badii bathing culture means…
Nature
Community
Connection
Joy
And we’re bring this Swiss-inspired wellness to America through…

Badii Talk: Thermal Bathing & Sauna Culture podcast where culture, travel, and thermal bathing meet
The idea for Badii came to me in Switzerland. I was living there and working for a big multinational corporation. And like so many women in corporate today, I was deeply burned out. After over a decade of “hustling” up the corporate ladder in a system that was never made for someone like me, my health was slipping.
I found respite through the Swiss bathing community. I worked with a local bathhouse cooperative whose mission is to bring the minerals of the River Limmat hot spring to more people. I swam in the rivers and lakes to train for the Zürich triathlon. I spent a lot of time soaking in mineral springs—from the mountains to the banks of rushing rivers. And I first experienced the magic of Aufguss in the sauna just around the corner from me in Baden, Switzerland.
I knew this was something America needed too. Not just a sauna. Not just a hot tub. But a culture of community, connection, nature, and joy. And so Badii was born.
Tschüss!
Sarah
